The history of Poongwon Precision started from Poongwon Chemicals that was established in 1967. Poongwon Chemicals has been importing and selling surface treatment chemicals of overseas leading companies but now directly develops surface treatment-related technologies and supplies to key customers.

With its repeated success, Poongwon Chemicals established Poongwon Precision as a separate corporation in 1996 with a photo etching factory to start from juicer parts to various metal processing technologies. Today, it has led to producing key parts such as semiconductor lead frames, precision parts for vehicles and electronics, and metal masks for OLED vacuum deposition.

Poongwon Precision and Poongwon Chemicals are growing together by not only producing metal masks but also providing sputtering and follow-up processes, which used to be conducted by the customers, as a one-stop through a cooperation system.

The business establishment philosophy of Poongwon Precision is to value employees more than anything. There is a big tree on the first floor of Poongwon Precision HQ, which is so big that it almost covers the whole ceiling. It was planted by Hwapyeong Yu, the founder, as a 'small considerate gesture' for the employees taking breaks between hard work schedule to feel the nature at least for a moment. It also represents the spirit of the founder to become a 'big tree' that supports and takes responsibility for the employees and families.
